Overview

The Defence Space Administration Establishment Act 2016 is a Nigerian law that establishes the Defence Space Administration (DSA) to develop satellite technology and ensure the security of the nation's cyber activities. The Act is divided into seven parts covering the establishment of the Administration, its Governing Council, structure, principal officers, financial provisions, transfer of property, and miscellaneous matters. Key objectives include implementing the defence and security aspects of the National Space Policy, developing military space technologies, supporting Nigerian military operations via satellites, providing space and cyberspace capabilities, launching satellites, establishing space control for peaceful use, setting up enhancement centres for satellite-based services, expanding knowledge in space science, and encouraging development of space vehicles.
