The document 'Minimum Standards for Primary Health Care in Nigeria' is published by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) under the Federal Government of Nigeria. It establishes minimum standards for primary health care (PHC) delivery across Nigeria's three-tier government system (Federal, State, Local Government). The primary health care system is the cornerstone of Nigeria's health policy and the first point of contact for most citizens. The document outlines standards for different PHC facility levels: Health Post, Primary Health Clinic, and Primary Health Care Centre. It also includes standards for Local Government Areas and States, guidelines for emerging PHC services, PHC support systems, and managerial systems. The Ward Health System (WHS) is the current national strategic framework for PHC delivery, using electoral wards as basic operational units.
