Overview

The National Agricultural Land Development Authority (Amendment) Act, 2016 is a Nigerian federal law that amends the National Agricultural Land Development Authority Act (Cap. N4, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004). The primary purpose of the amendment is to expand the membership of the Board of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) and the State Advisory Committees. Specifically, Section 2(1)(b) of the Principal Act is amended by inserting a new subparagraph (iii) to include a representative from 'Land and Urban Development'. Section 13(2) of the Principal Act is amended by substituting paragraph (b) to include the State Director of the National Orientation Agency. The Act was passed by the Senate on 29th September 2016 and by the House of Representatives on 1st June 2016. It was assented to by President Muhammadu Buhari on 18th October 2016. The Act is cited as the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (Amendment) Act, 2016.
