Overview

The National Energy Policy of Nigeria (Revised Edition 2022) is a comprehensive document that outlines the Nigerian government's strategic objectives and guidelines for the development and utilization of energy resources in a sustainable manner. Approved on 27th April 2022 by the Federal Government, this policy revises previous versions from 2003, 2013, 2018, and 2021. It is structured into thirteen chapters covering various energy sectors including petroleum, coal, nuclear, renewable, bio-energy, electricity, energy utilization, energy efficiency, environment and climate change, other energy issues (R&D, international cooperation, local content, manpower, gender), energy financing, and planning/implementation.
